A free values exercise for your next conversation

A ready-to-use test, worksheet, and discussion outline for coaches, newsletter writers, and workshop facilitators.

What you can share

The 40-question Values assessment takes about ten minutes. Participants receive their complete result without providing an email address or creating an account. Contributions are optional. Our methodology page explains the assessment and its limitations.

You can link to the test and use the printable decision worksheet in a conversation or workshop. Participants keep control of their answers and choose whether to discuss their results. This resource does not give facilitators access to anyone’s assessment data.

A 25-minute outline

  1. Ten minutes: participants take the test privately, or arrive with their results.
  2. Five minutes: each person chooses one real decision and translates two relevant values into practical needs.
  3. Five minutes: compare two options and look for a condition that makes room for both priorities.
  4. Five minutes: choose one next step. Invite voluntary discussion of the exercise, without asking participants to disclose scores.

What do you want your next decision to respect? This free Personal Values assessment from Your True Self offers a starting point, followed by a practical decision exercise. It takes about ten minutes, and the full result does not require email or an account. Use the result as a reflection prompt, not a prescription.

Keep the introduction accurate

Describe this as a self-reflection exercise based on Schwartz’s values framework and the PVQ-40. Do not present it as a diagnosis, a hiring screen, a measure of someone’s worth, or proof of relationship compatibility. Explain your relationship to Your True Self if you have one; there is no commission or endorsement implied by using these materials.
